Enhanced Fire Protection – FIREFLY and Kingspan collaborate to provide tested penetration solutions through K-Roc Insulated Panels
FIREFLY, a market leader in passive fire protection, has partnered with Kingspan, a global leader in high-performance insulation and building envelope solutions, to bring tested penetration solutions to the market. The collaboration aims to offer thousands of reliable and certified fire protection solutions for penetrations through Kingspan’s newly launched range of K-Roc mineral wool insulated panels.
Testing was successfully completed using FIREFLY systems incorporating Fire Collars, Penowrap for copper pipes, uPVC conduits, HDPE pipes, PE-X pipes, and electrical cables, including mastic sealing solutions, with Kingspan’s K-Roc Wall Panel [≥150mm]. Some of these tested solutions have demonstrated high performance, with furnace temperatures reaching 1150°C over a 4-hour period. It is important to note that individual penetration performance may vary by specification, ensuring flexibility to meet various project requirements.

When selecting ‘Kingspan K-Roc Panel’ from the app, users gain access to a comprehensive roster of tried and tested penetration solutions, streamlining the process of choosing the most suitable systems to meet specific project requirements.
