Within buildings, seismic joints are used for movement separation of a varied range of construction elements.
Movement can occur in the horizontal, vertical, lateral and axial directions. Two parts of a building side by side can move towards and away from each other, move from side to side, or have a difference in height as they deform. For this reason , separating through movement joints is required to allow for movement without damage to the underlying structure. This is further complicated in the case where the joints are also required to provide fire separation.
FIREFLY has a range of seismic solutions that simultaneously allow for movement and fire resistance, including highly flexible Intumescent foam seals for FRL -/120/120 joints up to 100 mm width and movement up to +/- 50%, as well as flexible fabric joints with FRL -/180/180 for joints up to 300 mm width and movement also up to 50 % .
With the CS Hypalon water proofing seals they are also ideal for exposed and semi-exposed application like car parks etc.
