FIREFLY BAL-FZ Wall Systems are assessed external wall systems designed for buildings requiring BAL-FZ bushfire protection, with systems available for applications both within and outside 10 m of vegetation.
At the heart of the system is lightweight FIREFLY Plus 60, forming the fire-barrier layer within a complete external wall system tested and assessed as capable of achieving BAL-FZ in accordance with AS1530.8.2 for inside of 10m and in accordance with AS1530.4 for outside of 10m.
Designed for timber and light-gauge steel framed construction, the system combines FIREFLY Plus 60 with FIREFLY Non-Combustible Sarking, steel external cladding, insulation and internal lining to create the complete assessed wall build-up.
BAL-FZ performance applies to the complete assessed wall system, with construction and installation requirements detailed in the relevant FIREFLY technical documentation. The BAL-FZ assessment is documented in Jensen Hughes Report FAS200015.
